Becoming Well, Wise, and Whole in our
Maturing Years
The Archdiocese of Detroit is sponsoring a
conference for
all maturing
adults, age 55 and older at St. Aidan Parish, 17500 Farmington Road,
Livonia. The conference is titled From Success to Significance:
Listening to God’s Call in our Maturing Years. For more
information, call the Office of Faith Formation/Catechetics at
313-237-4665 or
313-237-4805.
Experts speak of three phases in maturing adults: “Boomers,” those
preretired
(55–65); “Builders,” those already retired (65–80); and “Elders,”
those physically diminishing or homebound. Significantly, studies show
that three in four persons aged 65–74 and two in three of those over 75
enjoy health that is “good to excellent.”
Our parish communities are recognizing that seeing older people solely
as recipients of care is no longer an adequate response. The
archdiocese seeks to assist parishes in developing new pastoral
responses that build upon these phases of later life. Join with us to
explore possibilities
and celebrate our gifts. |

PROTECTING GOD’S

Do you, in
connection with the volunteer work you do for
our parish, interact
with children, even if only occasionally? If the answer to this
question is YES, you must attend a “Protecting God’s Children”

child abuse. If you are a volunteer that has not yet attended a
Protecting God’s
Children presentation you may attend the this session.
(A light meal will be served from 5:30-6:00 p.m.)
Contact: Laurie Rinehart @ 248-356-8787
It is necessary that you pre-register with Virtus: www.virtusonline.org.
Allow a minimum of three hours for the presentation.
Each attendee will receive a certificate evidencing attendance.
